Literacy in Primary Schools
September 28th, 2011In England Ks1 literacy program is the starting step for education. The next step is literacy KS2 . Ks2 is for children age 7-11. Ks2 literacy combines ks1 preliteracy skills and with listening, writing, comprehension and speaking. The students have spoken communication skills to help them develop into self assured speakers. The students learn the value of books and libraries. In Ks2 students will learn the correct writing and spelling.
British authorities have started a national program called National Literacy Strategy. This program helps students learn correct handwriting and reading. Parents are asked to get involved in the literacy program and be involved
in literacy games, storytelling, and tests. The Ks2 program helps students to reach their full intellectual abilities. Teaching KS2 literacy will stop students from having a low literacy rate.
